Transport is often the first real test of
an Expandable Container House project. A unit can be designed for compact
delivery, but it still has to pass through actual roads, gates, bridges,
corners and site entrances. Transport planning should begin with verified
dimensions, load information and the supplier’s handling requirements—not
assumptions based on photographs.
A logistics review normally considers the
delivery vehicle, turning space, road width, overhead obstacles, local weight
restrictions and the position where lifting equipment can stand safely. Remote
and scenic sites deserve particular attention because steep grades, soft ground
and narrow access roads may limit what can be delivered and when.
At the site, installation starts with the
prepared base and safe lifting plan. The unit is placed in its designated
location, leveled, supported and secured in accordance with the project design.
Only then should expandable sections be deployed. Teams should follow the
approved sequence, avoiding improvised adjustments that could damage seals,
frames or mechanical components.
Services are then connected. Depending on
the project, this may include electrical supply, grounding, water, wastewater,
ventilation, climate equipment and communications. The final checks should
cover door and window operation, water runoff, floor transitions, locking
points, weather seals and emergency access. A unit should not be handed over
for occupancy until these items have been verified.
Fast deployment does not remove the need for coordination. The most dependable projects treat transport, civil works, lifting and service connections as one connected plan. Good communication among the building designer, logistics provider, site contractor and local authorities is usually more valuable than an ambitious installation-time claim.
